Lester Croft, 47, Called by Death

Funeral services were held at Yale, Ia., Saturday afternoon for Lester Croft, age 27, who passed away Wednesday, June 18 at the Perry Hospital following a heart attack.

Rev. Walter Berggren preached the funeral sermon assisted by Rev. Elmer Bloomquist, Methodist pastor at Yale. Lorraine Dobbe sang "Under His Wings" and "The City Foursquare." Pallbearers were Henry, Leonard and Sheldon Wagley and Robert, Delbert and Hubert Nelson. The floral tributes were many and very beautiful. There were also several gifts to Missions given in his memory. A poem in tribute to Mr. Croft was written by the sisters and read by Rev. Berggren at the church. He was a sincere Christian and an active member of the Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Palestine Cemetery, near Huxley.

Lester Croft, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Croft of Sheldahl, was united in marriage to Rose Wagley on Apr. 7, 1923. To this union four sons were born, John, Paul, Phillip and David.

He is survived by his wife and four sons; his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Mueller of Portage, Wis. and Mrs. Florence Nelson of Ames, and a host of other relatives and friends. A sister, Alice, preceded him in death.
