Services Held for Howard Weeks, 78

Howard Weeks, 78, of Sheldahl passed away June 15 in Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 17 in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Slater.

Rev. John Ness was the officiating clergyman and Mrs. Alvin Lund was at the organ.

The congregation sang, "Children of The Heavenly Father" and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee."

Pallbearers were Jess McKinney, Fred R. Bennethum, Herb Fausch, Monnie Stauffer, Lester Moore and Claude Niemier.

Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Obituary

Howard Weeks was born June 29, 1898 on a farm four miles southeast of Slater where he lived for 50 years. He was the youngest in a family of five children. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Will Weeks.

He was married in 1946 to Jane Spencer.

He was a life-long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mabel Michaelson, and a brother, Thomas Weeks.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Reinertson and Mrs. Alice Torgerson of Slater; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Weeks of Slater, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. and Mrs. Weeks had lived in Sheldahl for 25 years.
