Rites Held For Mrs. Bertha Thompson

SLATER -- Mrs. Bertha Thompson, 77, for many years a Story County resident, died at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Sunday, Sept. 13.

Obituary

Bertha Thompson, daughter of Ingeborg and Thomas S. Thompson was born Sept. 2, 1875 in Polk County, Ia. Her husband preceded her in death on March 2, 1939.

Her entire life was spent in this community.

Survivors include 10 children. They are, Mrs. Olive Keltner and Tommy and Joseph Thompson of Ames, Arthur Thompson and Mrs. Dorothy Harmon of Polk City, Oley Hanson of Huxley, Mrs. Lillian Bennett of Webster City, Mrs. Mabel Miller of Madrid, Mrs. Florence Arringdale of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Anna Wideen of Wayne, Mich. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers.

Services were held from the Riix funeral home here at 1:30 Wednesday and 2 o'clock at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. P. E. Onstad officiating. Lester Moore and Pastor Onstad were the singers and Mrs. Harold Croft organist. Pallbearers were Nathaniel Childs, Wm. Blake, Alfred Blake, J. W. Drummond, Junior D. Michael and Ralph Carlson. Interment was in the Bethlehem cemetery at Slater.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Bertha (Thompson) Thompson also lists her maiden name as Seaboe so I have included that name also.
