Last Rites for Orville T. Lee

Funeral services for Orville T. Lee were held Wednesday afternoon Feb. 16, at 2 p. m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Rev. John M. Ness, pastor of the church was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Alvin Lund was the organist and accompanied Robert Weeks, the soloist. He sang "Beautiful Savior" and "Children of the Heavenly Father."

Pallbearers were Homer Lee, Donald Lee, Orin Erickson, James Lee, Leonard Lee and Arlo Erickson.

Mrs. Arlo Erickson and Mrs. Emil Grulke cared for the flowers.

Interment was made in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Slater.

Obituary

Orville T. Lee was born to George and Dena Lee on Dec. 31, 1910 near Huxley in Polk County. He passed away at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames Feb. 13, 1972 at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 13 days. He was ill with influenza and developed pneumonia. Death came unexpectedly as a result of a pulmonary embolism.

On Sept. 21, 1940 he was married to Lavona Simonson and to them was born one son, David.

He was baptized in the Palestine Lutheran Church near Huxley. Later he moved with his parents to Minnesota where he was confirmed May 31, 1925 in the Sharon Lutheran Church at Lamberton, Minn. As a young man he moved to Iowa and joined the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of which he was a faithful member.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving him are his widow; his son and daughter-in-law of Slater; his mother, Mrs. Lena Lee of Lamberton, Minn.; five brothers and six sister as follows: Millard of Boone, Mrs. Olaf (Grace) Hedman of Westbrook, Minn., Grant Lee and Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Eichstadt of Walnut Grove, Minn., Mrs. Esther Redman of Lamberton, Minn., Raymond of West St. paul, Minn., Mrs. Victor (Clara) Weber of Quinby, Ia., Merle of Ames, Willard of Samonauk, Ill. and Mrs. Robert (Charlotte0 Davis of Broomfield, Colo., many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

All of Mr. Lee's sisters and brothers, except Mrs. Eichstadt, who is visiting her son stationed in Germany, were in attendance at the funeral services.
