THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, October 5, 2005.

Debra (Debby) Joy Lourens, 51, of rural Cambridge, died Monday, Oct. 3, at her home of breast cancer. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Elkhart Christian Church. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.

Debra (Debby) Joy Lourens was born in Carlinville, Ill.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Lourens of Elkhart; two sons; Lincoln and Spencer Lourens of Elkhart; her mother and step-father, William and Shirley Hudson-Mason of Ankeny; sisters; Connie (Junior) Tuma, Kathy Klonglan and friend Steve Brothers; Steve (Denise) Hudson, Bruce Hudson, Tim (Debbie) Hudson; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; George and Lillian Lourens; brother-in-law and sister-in-laws; Denny (Cindi) Wheeler and Barb Lourens; and nieces and nephews; Angie, Amy, James, Takiesha, Chris, Emily, Corbin, Wyatt, Anna (Jake), Justin (Jennifer), Joshua and Kristina as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold (Link) Hudson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Ankeny Funeral Home and Crematory with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Elkhart Christian Church, Susan G. Komen Foundation and Mercy Hospice.

She enjoyed working as a cosmetologist at Hair West in Ankeny, spending time reading and with her little dog, Woody. She loved being a mom to her two boys and wife to her husband.
