CHARLEY ANDERSON BURIED

Funeral Held From the Bethlehem Church Thursday Afternoon, March 27th

Funeral services over the remains of Charley Anderson were held from the Bethlehem church last Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. They were in charge of Rev. E. R. Rorem who gave a short, impressive talk. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet, composed of Mr. and Mrs. Lawnie Klonglan, Mrs. Miller Heggen and Andrew Mahland. They sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer," "Fade, Fade Each Earthly Joy" and "Day Is Dying in the West." The floral offerings were beautiful. Burial was made in the Slater cemetery. The pall bearers were Henry Skola, Burton Larson, Henry Gord, Amos Larson, Severin Heggem and Ole R. Olson.

Charley Anderson was born in Sweden on May 28, 1866, and attained an age of 64 years, 9 months and 28 days. He came to America as a young man, taking up his residence in Omaha, where he was married to Miss Susie Wald in 1890. After a residence in Omaha they located in Des Moines, where they lived many years prior to their coming to Slater. His wife preceded him in death, having passed away on January 1st, this year. He died on Tuesday morning, March 25th, at the Mary Greeley hospital at Ames, the victim of lobar pneumonia. He is mourned by two sisters, Mrs. Marie Lindbloom, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Hattie Lundquist of Marathon, Iowa.
