DEATH OF MRS. JANE ELLEFLOD

Was Found Unconscious in Bed On Wednesday Evening--Passed Away Thursday.

At one o'clock last Thursday took place the death of Mrs. Jane Elleflod, the victim of apoplexy. She had taken sick sometime Thursday night and was found in an unconscious condition by neighbors on Wednesday evening. At that time Mrs. N. R. Sydnes, who was delivering milk noticed that the milk of the previous evening remained untouched where she had left it. It was so unusual that she went into the house to learn what the trouble could be. She found Josie sitting on a chair playing wit the family cat. Asking her where her sister was she replied that she was in bed, resting. On entering the room she found her in bed as told her. Attempting to rouse her, she found her unconscious. Neighbors as well as a doctor were summoned, but there was nothing to do. She had been the victim of a stroke of paralysis some time Tuesday night. Her sister, Miss Josie, being feeble minded, had been with her sister all day Wednesday, but did not realize the seriousness of the situation. Deceased had had two previous strokes, but had not been any worse, and on Tuesday afternoon the two sisters had been up town to do some shopping.

Funeral took place from the home and Bethlehem church on Saturday afternoon, burial being made in the family lot in the Palestine cemetery. Rev. Duea, her pastor, had charge of the services, which were attended by a large crowd. Mrs. Archie Peterson and Mrs. M. S. Heggen sang a duet and Mrs. Oscar Reinertson sang a solo.

Deceased was born March 9, 1871, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Olson, who lived southeast of the Palestine church for many years. She was married to Faltin Elleflod on March 8, 1909. They made their home in North Dakota, where he died a short time afterwards. She later joined her mother in Slater, where she continued to live. She is survived by a sister, Josie Olson, and a nephew, Mr. Shirley Gord, now of Ames. She had not been very strong for some time, having been the victim of two previous apoplexy strokes.
