Rites for Former Huxley Resident

Mrs. Lorents Osa, 68, of 733 Pine St., Edmonds, Wash., who had been ill from leukemia for some time, passed away on June 4. She was the former Hilda Kloster, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Kloster of Huxley.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 7 at 1 p. m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church at Lynnwood, where she was a member.

In the absence of her pastor, Rev. O. A. Crawford, the pastor of Ballard First Lutheran Church in Seattle, Rev. Burton W. Smith, gave the message. He chose John 14, the first seven verses, as his text, which were a favorite of the deceased. Dr. O. L. Haavik of Parkland, Wash., her former pastor when she lived in Seattle was present and spoke briefly.

Mrs. Allen Solemslie was soloist and sang two number, "Living for Jesus" and "In Heaver Above." She was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Arthur F. Stamey.

There were beautiful floral tributes from friends and relatives as well as gifts of money for worthy causes in memory of Mrs. Osa.

Pallbearers were her nephews and grand-nephews--Alden Severeid, Bill Hastig, Earl Rouleau, Richard Palander, Hubert Depew and Wilho hastig.

Interment was in the Pacific Lutheran Section of Washelli Cemetery in Seattle.

Among those from a distance were Dr. and Mrs. O. L. Haavik of Parkland; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Norman of Kent; Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Lars E. Rynning of Tacoma; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Haug of Bellvue; Misses Angelin and Marjorie Tesdell and Martin Apland of Everett, Wash.; and Miss Sina Moran of Nevada, Ia.

Obituary

Mrs. Hilda Osa, daughter of Anders L. and Anna Kloster, was born on July 5, 1889 at Huxley and passed away at the Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle on June 4, 1958 at the age of 68 years and 11 months.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran
faith and was a member of the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church while she lived at Huxley.

She attended school at Huxley and the Lutheran Normal School in Sioux Falls, S. D. and learned clinical laboratory work under Dr. J. D. Glomset in Des Moines. She was a clinical laboratory technician for 15 years and was employed in Iowa, Illinois, California, Washington and Kentucky.

On Dec. 6, 1930 she was united in marriage to Lorents Osa of Seattle until Sept. 1951, when they moved to Richmond Beach. In September, 1952 they moved to Edmonds where they have since made their home.

Preceding her in death were her father and mother and her brother, Lars S. Kloster.

Survivors are her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred M. (Carrie) Severeid of Seattle, Wash. and Mrs. Sina Moran of Nevada, Ia.; 7 nieces and nephews, 16 grand-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
