Rites Friday for Mrs. Belle Larson

Funeral services for Mrs. Belle Larson of Albin, Wyo., were held Friday afternoon in the Bethlehem church. Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services using as his theme "Going Home." The text was from II Corinthians 5:6-10.

Miss Stanley Heggen sang "In the Garden," and Mrs. Harry Cairns sang "Beyond the Sunset." Both sang a duet, "God Will Take Care of You."

Casket bearers were six nephews: Harry Cairns, Stanley Heggen, Leon Heggen, Walter Stock, King Auestad and Doyle Auestad. Burial was in the Sheldahl cemetery.

Belle Larson, Daughter of Haktor and Marie Auestad, was born in Haugesund, Norway, Dec. 26, 1871, and died at the home of her niece Mrs. Childers, in Des Moines, reaching the age of 79 years, 6 months and 7 days.

She came to this country with her parents in 1881 and took up their residence in Sheldahl. The family became members of the Bethlehem congregation, and Belle was confirmed by Rev. H. C. Holm.

On Mar. 17, 1897 she was united in marriage to Lewis Larson, establishing their home in Sheldahl, where they attended the Sheldahl Methodist church. In the summer of 1907 they moved to their homestead near Pine Bluffs, Wyo., where they made their home until the death of the husband in 1943.

She and her sister, Mrs. Ida Peterson, moved to Denver, where she lived for some time, and then went to live in Albin, Wyo., where she lived until the first part of this year, when her health became so that she could not live alone.

She was taken to a hospital in Cheyenne and from there to Mrs. Ida Peterson's apartment in Denver, and on Feb. 22, 1951, she came to the home of her sister, Mrs. M. S. Heggen, where she was cared for until she was taken to the home of niece, Mrs. Childers in Des Moines, so that she could have the care of a trained nurse.

She leaves to mourn her, two sister, Mrs. Ida Peterson of Denver and Mrs. M. S. Heggen of Slater; two brothers, Herman Auestad of Des Moines and Andrew Auestad of Kensett, and a number of nephews and nieces and other relatives.

Those from a distance attending the services were: Mrs. Ida Peterson and Mrs. Hubert Heggen and Michael of Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson of Albin, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. A. O Auestad of Kensett; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stock and family of Alton, Ill.; Mrs. K. O. Highland and C. O. Highland of Roland; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Auestad, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Childress and family, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Auestad and daughter, Miss Marie Brown, Mrs. Walter Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Heggen, all of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cairns of Cambridge; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Heggen of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heggen of Adel and Mr. and Mrs. King Auestad and daughters of Carroll.
