Services at Ames For G. T. Eide

Funeral services for Gunder T. Eide were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bethesda Lutheran church in Ames. Rev. Boe had charge of the services. Elmer Fardahl sang to songs, "Den Store Vide Flok" and "Abide With Me." There were many contributions to various missions in memory of the deceased.

Pallbearers were all grandsons of Mr. Eide. They were Lawrence and Leslie Ryerson, Obert Ryerson and Herbert, Marion and Adrian Halverson. Burial was in the Slater cemetery.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Grunstad and Lawrence Eide of Elwell, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Christen Eide of Chicago and Henry Thompson of Jewell.

Obituary.

Gunder T. Eide was born in Karmoy, Norway, Sept. 22, 1858.

He was a young teacher in Karmoy when he decided to come to the United States and Iowa in 1882. He worked on the railroad and did some farm work.

In 1887 he was married to Anna Thompson, who passed away in 1912. They purchased a farm near Slater, where they lived for many years.

His oldest daughter, Mrs. Belle Halverson, passed away in 1948. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Liza Ryerson and Mrs. Martha Dahl of Ames, Mrs. Tena Grunstad of Elwell, Mich. and Miss Edith Eide of Des Moines; one son, Alvin Eide of Cutbank, Mont.; 19 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Malena Ytreland, in Kopervik, Norway.

Mr. Eide entered the Bethesda home at Wilmar, Minn. in October, 1942, where he was supremely happy. He passed away last Saturday morning at 10:30 at the Bethesda home after a very brief illness.
