Services Held for T. T. Simonson, 89

Services were held Thursday afternoon for T. T. Sionson. At the home, Mrs. Arnold Sydnes sang "Come Ye Disconsolate" and Rev. P. E. Onstad read the Twenty-third Psalm. At the Bethlehem Lutheran church Otis Ihle sang "Under His Wings," Pastor Onstad sand "Den Store Hvide Flok" and Mrs. Sydnes sang "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name." Rev. Onstad spoke on the theme, "A Promise for Old Age," using Isaiah 46:4 for a text.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Roy Fausch and Mrs. Glenn Fausch. There were also many memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Simonson.

Pallbearers were Charles Estrem, LeRoy Estrem, Robert Newman, Jerrol Newman, Orville Lee and Ervin Simonson. Burial was in the Slater cemetery.

A murky cloud had gathered 'round overfilled,
Oh Death, my sorrow's cup hath overfilled,
Down on a bed of dusky loam
My loved one sleeps so white and still.

Obituary.

Torris T. Simonson, son of Torris and Elizabeth Simonson, was born in Polk county, Iowa, May 30, 1862. At the age of 14 he moved with his parents to a farm near Slater. He has lived in this community all his life. He was married to Bertha Romsa in 1894.

Mr. Simonson was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine church and was a member of the Bethlehem church.

He passed away on Monday, Aug. 20 at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 21 days. He leaves, to mourn his departure, his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Simonson had no children of their own, but during the first 25 years of their married life, they always had some child in the home. Frank Seafield of Chicago was brought up in their home from the age of 10.

Mr. Simonson's parents, brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

He had many friends who mourn his passing. Blessed be his memory.
