Services Monday For Mrs. Jenny Lee

Final rites were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Riis Funeral home for Mrs. Jenny Lee, who passed away Thursday evening at her home here after a lengthy illness.

Rev. Pedar Buland of Cambridge had charge of the services and brought a consoling and helpful message to the family.

Otis Ihle sang two songs, "Under His Wing" and "Rock of Ages." He was accompanied by Mrs. Oliver Newman at the piano.

The beautiful floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. L. H. Huffman of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Phil Rood. There were also gifts to missions and worthy causes in memory of Mrs. Lee.

Pallbearers were Edgar Whitcraft of Boone, Harry Sarver, Jr., of Madrid, Orville Hauskin of Ames, Frederick Lee of Cambridge and Alvin Lee of Slater, all grandsons of Mr. Lee, and Phil Rood, long-time friend of the family.

Burial was in the Slater cemetery, where Pastor Buland also spoke briefly and sang two verses of a favorite Norwegian song.

Mrs. Lee will be remembered as a loving mother and helpful neighbor. She was left a widow in 1917 when her husband was killed in an accident at his work as foreman of the Milwaukee Railroad section crew at Slater. Left with a family of eight children she led a busy life but always found time to help others in cases of sickness and death.

A number of years ago she fell and suffered a broken hip from which she was left crippled for the rest of her life. The past year or so her health began to fail and for several months she was bedfast, being cred for by her two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Sarver of Madrid and Mrs. Myrtle Whitcraft of Boone.
