OBITUARY

John Lee was born at Loren, Norway, December 2, 1860. At the age of twenty-five he came to America and took up his residence with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Valen of Huxley. On February 24, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Elida Larson at Huxley, Iowa. This union was blessed with ten children, seven sons and three daughters. Of these, one son and a daughter are dead. The family made their residence at Ames, Huxley and Iowa Falls, where Mr. Lee worked on the section, before coming to Slater where he continued his work on the railroad up until the time of his death.

Deceased had a large acquaintanceship and a big circle of friends. He was industrious and was always at his work, rain or shine, and will be missed by his co-employees who expressed their grief and sympathy in beautiful floral offerings. Other floral pieces came from the depot force, the Rebeccas, grade pupils and other friends. The family, thus suddenly called upon to mourn the death of a dear father, have the sympathy of the entire community.
