Final Rites Held For Gilbert Nelson

Funeral services were held last Saturday for Gilbert Nelson from Riis Funeral Home at 2 p. m. Rev. Pedar Buland was in charge of the services. Lester Moore of Sheldahl sand two selections, "Goodnight and Good Morning" and "The Lord's Prayer."

Pallbearers were Oscar Severson, Ole Nernes, Ingwal Estrem, Morton Nernes, Ed Twit and Andrew Freeland.

Interment was in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Obituary.

Gilbert Ann-Berlin Nelson was born on Dec. 7, 1879 at Gardner, Ill., to Ole and Mabel Nelson. He was one of eight children.

Mr. Nelson had been confined to the Iowa City Hospital since December, 1953, and passed away there on Feb. 24 at the age of 74 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bertha Bridie of Des Moines and Nellie Jay of California, and a brother, Hilman Nelson, of California.

He is survived by two sisters, Hattie Chrisman of Proctor, Minn., and Olive Jacobson of Los Angeles; two brothers, Andrew of Tryamph, Minn. and Ernest of Sheldahl.

He lived for many years in the Sheldahl vicinity and will be missed by many friends there.
