Last Rites Held For Mrs. Armstrong At Ryan Fun. Home

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Armstrong were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2:00 with Dr. Raymond Shipman assisted by Rev. David Ash officiating.

Mrs. Norman Dobson played several selections during the service.

The Nevada city council and city employees attended the service in a body.

The casket bearers were Lester Corbin, Norman Dobson, Leo Mathison, Art McCaffery, Guy Selby and Harold Tipton.

Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Grace Armstrong was born December 13, 1882, in Nevada township, a daughter of Ed and Viola Goodin and had been a resident of Story county all her life. Mrs. Armstrong graduated from high school in 1903. She was a member of the Methodist church and has been active in the work of the church, taught in the church school and assisted in the missionary work of the church. She taught in the church school and assisted in the missionary work of the church. She taught school in Story county for a number of years. On Feb. 27, 1905, she was united in marriage to Ed Armstrong in Nevada.

Surviving are her husband, Ed, one son Ellis Armstrong in Des Moines, one daughter, Mrs. Fred Bronson of Alden, Minn. She laves six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother, Joe Goodin of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Fay Halloway of Tacoma, Wash. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Gooding, born in 1895 who died in 1950, Flo Goodin, born in 1887 who died in 1944, and two other brothers who died in infancy.
