SUDDEN DEATH OF ROLAND WOMAN

MRS. LARS LARSON-BAKKA CALLED BY MESSENGER OF DEATH, SATURDAY.

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Feb. 13.--The community was shocked Saturday morning when they heard of the death of Mrs. Lars Larson-Bakka, who died at the family home, about three miles west of this city, Saturday morning. A week ago she was taken sick with a bad cold, but it did not become serious until Friday evening, when she was taken worse and a physician was called. She died in a fainting spell. She did not seem to suffer very much. Mrs. Larson has not been very strong this winter, but has been able to be up and around.

The deceased was born in Sousoken, Norway, October 1836, leaving her 74 years of age last October. She continued to make her home in that country for many years. In the year 1863 she was united in marriage to Mr. Larson. They lived in Norway for three years, when they came to this country and located in Illinois where they lived two years, when they moved to Story county and soon afterwards located on the farm where they now live. She leaves seven children, one daughter and six sons. The children are as follows: Lars, who works the home place, Louis living near Dickey, N. D., but who is at home at present, Knute and Martin, living in Boulder, Colo., Nels at Dickey, N. D., Cornelius at Graettinger, and Miss Lena, who makes her home with her parents.

No particulars about the funeral can be given until they get word from the children in Colorado and North Dakota.
