Slater, Feb. 8.--The funeral of the late John Gustave Peterson, whose death occurred at Cheyenne, Wyoming, on January 30, was held here on Saturday forenoon, Rev. Holman officiating and the body interred in the Palestine cemetery. The deceased was the son of George and Julia Peterson and was born in this city on Dec. 25, 1878.He was a carpenter by trade and about six years ago went to Sioux City to engage in that line of work. Tuberculosis took a hold upon him and he began to fail rapidly. About a week before death occurred he went to Cheyenne with the hope that change would stem the onslaught of the disease.
He was unmarried and is survived by his mother, four brothers and two sisters. He was a man of good character and was well known and respected in this vicinity.
