Nevada Woman Attended Funeral Services for Father

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Poehlein of 1303 Ninth street, Nevada, were at Fraser today to attend th funeral services for Mrs. Poehlein's father, the late George W. Shaeffer, 82, who died Wednesday night at a nursing home in Des Moines, where he had been cared for for some time. Burial was in a cemetery at Boone.

Mr. Shaeffer was born at Logansport, Indiana, and shortly after his birth the parents came in an ox-drawn covered wagon to Iowa and settled in Boone county, and there the deceased spent 63 years of his life. For more than 25 years he was an engineer on the Northwestern, but was forced to resign his position because of impaired eyesight.

He had lived in Des Moines for about 20 years, operating a grocery until about 5 years ago.

Mr. Shaeffer is survived by six daughters and five sons. They are: Mrs. Meier and Mrs. George Watters of Des Moines; Mrs. C. E. Taylor of Clinton, Mrs. O. L. Poehlein of Nevada, Mrs. E. F. Mertz of Seattle, Wash.; and Mrs. K. F. Macy of Henderson, Tenn.

Ralph and Clarence Shaeffer of Des Moines; Lee and Clayton of Fraser, and George of Los Angeles, Calif.
