Anna Marie Sheldahl was born April 29, 1897 in northern Polk County near Huxley to parents Helge and Serina Ness. She attended school near her home. She was baptized and confirmed in Palestine Lutheran Church of which she was a lifetime member.

On March 3, 1921, she was united in marriage to Lewis Sheldahl. They farmed northwest of Slater until they moved to Slater about four years ago. Mr. Sheldahl died in October of 1968.

Mrs. Sheldahl died in her sleep Sunday morning, Jan. 31. Having gone about her usual Saturday household duties, report of her death was very unexpected to her family and community.

Surviving her are her sister, Bertha Ness, who had been living with her a little over a year; a brother, Seward Ness, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Arnold Ness, both of Huxley; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers.

She will be remembered as an unusually kind and thoughtful friend and neighbor.
