Robert A. Chitty

COLO - Robert A. Chitty, 38, of Colo, died at his home in Colo Tuesday morning after an illness of three years.

Funeral services will be held from the Colo United Methodist Church on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Harlan Babcock will officiate with burial in the Colo Cemetery.

Chitty was born on March 18, 1939, to James and Louisa Chitty, and had been a resident of Story County practically his entire lifetime. An electrician by occupation, he was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church, the Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 292 and was a Korean War Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Carol; one son, James; one daughter, Mary Lou; four brothers, James of Princeton, John of Maxwell, Doug of Nevada and Joe of Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Jan) Kitchen of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home unti noon Thursday. A memorial fund has been established.
