Clyde M. Oxley Funeral Services Held At Maxwell

Funeral services for Clyde Oxley was held at Cooper Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stanley Farmer officiating. Mrs. Madeline Summitt played "Beyond the Sunset" on the organ.

The beautiful floral sprays were in charge of Mrs. Esther Fish and Mrs. Harriett Green.

Casket bearers were Dwayne Brown, Arnold Scott, Richard Green, Clair Senter, Keith Meyers and Marold Witmer.

Interment was in the Peoria cemetery.

Life Sketch

Clyde Morgan Oxley, son of John C. and Clara, was born September 27, 1889 in Story County. He died Sunday, June 3, 1962 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada.

On Dec. 15, Clyde and Mary Cooper were married in Des Moines, and to this union seven children were born. They moved into their farm home four miles southeast of Maxwell, where they lived for all their married years. He attended the Peoria Methodist Church regularly in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Susan Oxley, Goldie Balcom and Florence Mead; a son, Robert; and a daughter, Mary Helen.

Oxley is survived by his wife, two sons, William C. of Des Moines, John R. of Maxwell, three daughters, Mrs. Lee Faelz of Custro Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Lee Roy Koder of Des Moines, and Mrs. John Moore of Nevada.

Also five grandchildren, John Oxley, Des Moines, Steven and David Faelz of Custro Valley and Marsha and Mary Lou Moore, Nevada.
