Mrs. Mame Ambrose Funeral Services Are Held Today

Mame Allen Ambrose, daughter of Madison C. and Sarah Ann Allen, was born in Nevada, Ia. Jan. 2, 1872. She was married Jan. 17, 1895 to Frank Ambrose in Nevada.

Mrs. Ambrose died Friday, March 30, 1962 in Pasadena, Calif., where she had lived the past several years with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Watson. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Ambrose was graduated from the Nevada High School, June 14, 1889, and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

She was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church since girlhood, a charter member of the Nevada Legion Auxiliary, a past president of the Nevada Woman's Club, a member of the Solomon Dean Chapter of the D.A.R., and was president of the Nevada P.T.A. the first year it was founded. She was always interested and active in all civic activities of Nevada, her home town for eighty years.

Mrs. Ambrose was preceded in death by her husband, B. F. Ambrose, Sept. 15, 1949, and by one son, John W. Ambrose, Aug. 6, 1950. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Paul (Doris) Watson of Pasadena, Calif., two sons, Allen Ambrose of Glen Ellyn, Ill. and Frank Jr. of Nevada, one sister, Louise Allen Richardson of Redwood City, Calif., four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Mrs. Mame Ambrose were held at the Ryan Funeral Home Tuesday, April 3, 1962 at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. James Dendler officiating.

Mrs. Norman Dobson, organist, furnished music for the services. Casket bearers were Ralph Cessna, Robert Dana, Mervin Fry, Oscar Hall, Howard Schultz and I. R. Stone.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
