Monday services scheduled for Clarence Stark, 85

NEVADA - Clarence Carl Stark, 85, of Nevada, passed away Friday, September 30 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing. Funeral services will be held from the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Nevada on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Father Franz Lohberg will officiate with burial in the St. James Cemetery at Colo. A rosary service will be at the Ryan Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.

Born in Mountain Grove, Miss. [should be Missouri] in 1891, he was the son of Charles and Julia Canada Stark. He was a farmer in the Colo area, and a past District Court Bailiff in Story County. Stark was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. He also was a 60 year member of the American Legion and was a past Commander of the Colo Post. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Story County Barracks.

He is survived by three sons, Carl of Onslow, John of Nevada and Edwin of North Highland, Calif.; two daughters Mrs. Floyd (Mary Ada) Black of Nevada and Mrs. Herbert (Julia) Oxley of West Branch, 26 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lyman Noyes of Hollywood, Calif.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Nita, a son, Charles, his parents; two brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
