Last Rites Held For Mrs. William Maakestad Feb. 26

Funeral services for Mrs. William N. Maakestad was held Thursday afternoon, February 25, in the Olson Funeral Home at Truman and at 2 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, near Story City, on Friday, February 26. The Rev. R. Arndt officiated at both services. Burial was in Mamreland cemetery near Randall.

Obituary

Hannah Mary Maakestad, daughter of Hooken and Anna Romsdahl Ingebritson was born in Hamilton county on November 7, 1870. She was baptized in infancy into the Christian Church of the Lutheran faith and later renewed her baptismal vow in the rite of confirmation.

On November 10, 1904 she was united in marriage to William N. Maakestad, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1915. In 1925 she moved to Minneapolis and lived there until her health began to fail. Since 1943 she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lester Schwartz of Vernon Center, Minnesota. During this time she needed much care which was given by her daughter and family.

Three daughters and two sons survive, Mrs. Harriett Schwartz of Vernon Center, Carrie Maakestad of San Francisco and Mrs. Emily Gall of Pasadena; Severt of Sacramento and William of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Also surviving are two sisters, one brother and three grandchildren.
