Rites Held Thursday For Bessie Adams

Funeral services for Bessie Adams were held Thursday afternoon from the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell at 2 o'clock with the Rev. J. T. McClelland officiating.

Mrs. Earl McHone sang two songs "Precious Lord" and "Nearer My God to Thee," accompanied by Mrs. Madeline Summit.

Mrs. Maggie Sesker and Mrs. Wayne Kinyon had charge of the flowers.

Casket bearers were Ivin Elliott, Wayne Kinyon, Joe Seversike, Harold Heintz and Dennis Ingram.

Obituary

Bessie Zook Adams, the second daughter of Henry and Margaret Zook, was born in Cambridge, Iowa on May 5, 1892 and graduated from the high school there.

On January 24, 1917 she was married to Orlen Adams at Faribault, Minnesota. They returned to their farm northeast of Cambridge where she lived until her passing. She was a member of the United Brethren Church and belonged to the Woman's club also Garden Club and her own neighborhood club, all of which she enjoyed very much. She was a lover of flowers which she shared with all her friends and neighbors.

For the past several years he had been in failing health. She was a patient in the hospital in November for five days and was again admitted on Saturday, December 19. She passed away at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Surviving are her husband, Orten and one son, Henry of Cambridge, three sisters, Mrs. Maude Bundy of Spring Valley, Minn., Mrs. Eva Sexton of North Hollywood, Calif. and Mrs. Gladys Warren of Ames, Iowa and one brother, Fred Zook of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Florence and one brother Earl.

Burial was in the Cambridge cemetery.
