DEATH OF MRS. STOCKSTAD

Roland, Aug 28--Relatives here received the sad message last Saturday that Mrs. Christian Stokstad had passed away suddenly at her home at Santa Rosa, Cal. Although she had been poorly, her death came as a great shock to her many friends here.

The deceased was a daughter of the late L. T. Olson and was born and raised in this locality. Mr. and Mrs. Stokstad were both missionaries to China for a number of years. Mrs. Stokstad going out from Salem's church, but were forced to give up their work several years ago on account of ill health. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and three children, four sisters and one brother, Ms. W. Hermanson of Story City, Hannah of this place, Carrie, a missionary to China, Lena who has made her home at Santa Rosa for the past year, and Otis of this place. Carrie, Hannah and Otis left Monday for Santa Rosa to be present at the funeral.
