OBITUARY OF ROBT. RASMUSSEN

Was Native of Denmark and 48 Years of Age.

McCallsburg, Dec. 15.--Robert Rasmussen was born in Raarup, Denmark, June 11, 1876 an died at his home near McCallsburg, Iowa, Dec. 5, 1924, at the age of 48 years. He came to America with his parent in 1884 and settled at Randall, Iowa, near which place he has spent the remainder of his life. On November 29, 1899, he was united in marriage to Eva Crowder of Randall. To this union six children were born: Vera, dying in infancy, Mrs. Morris Hill of McCallsburg, and Raleigh, Florence, Delbert and Leo at home.

Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his death, a grandson, four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Kerstena Jurgens and Mrs. Caroline Jensen of Des Moines, Mrs. Sena Christenson of Randall; Mrs. Mary Rogers and Carl Rasmussen of Radcliffe. In 1913 he joined the Christian church and has been a faithful worshiper ever since.

He was a kind husband and father and his thoughts were always for the comfort of his family. Besides his family and other relatives, he leaves a host of friends.

A home in heaven.
Where our friends are fled,
To the cheerless gloom
Of the mouldering lead.
We wait in hope
On the promise given,
We will meet up there,
In out home in heaven.

The funeral of Robert Rasmussen was held Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, an was largely attended by relatives and friends, Rev. Trimble, pastor of the Christian church at Ames officiating.

A trio, A. G. Graves, Mrs. W. H. Reid and Mrs. F. E. Nail furnished the music.

The flowers were many and beautiful. Relatives in attendance from a distance were two sisters, Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Christensen of Des Moines, and brother Peter Rasmussen, Radcliffe, and Carl Rasmussen and family of Radcliffe.

Mrs. Rasmussen and family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.
