HAINLINE, JESSE November 17 1876 - 15 June 1952

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 26, 1952, page 1, column 1. “JESSE HAINLINE AT REST. – Funeral services for Jesse Hainline were held Tuesday, June 17th at 2:00 o’clock from the Sundberg Funeral Home in Madrid, with Rev. Walter Berggrem of Polk City in charge. Jesse Hainline, for many years a resident of the Polk City and Madrid communities died Sunday, June 15, at his home southeast of Madrid following a long illness. Mr. Hainline was a son of Andrew J. and Sarah E. Hailine and was born November 17, 1876 near Cambridge, Iowa. His death on June 15, came at the age of 75 years, and 7 months. Growing to young manhood in the community of his birth he was on January 22, 1902 united in marriage to Miss Etta M. Allen of Maxwell. They established their home in the Cambridge community and continued to reside there until 1914 when they moved to a farm near Polk City where they lived for 30 years. They then moved to the small farm southeast of Madrid where Mr. Hainline’s death occurred. To Mr. and Mrs. Hainline were born seven children, six of whom survive. Those living are: Harold L. of Bettendorf, Iowa; Allen R. of farrar; Robert C. of Des Moines; Mildred R. Tingley of Madrid; Luetta C. Casner of Sandwich, Illinois; and Betty L. Lee of Sandwich, Illinois. Andrew J. preceded his father in death August 18, 1933. In addition to the six children mentioned above, he leaves to revere his memory, his wife, one sister, Mrs. Lura Lowe of Des Moines, and one brother Willis Hainline of Cambridge, fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, besides many relatives and friends. Mrs. Walter Berggren and daughter La Vonne sang the selections “In The Garden” and “Beyond The Sunset” accompanied by Elinor Gilbert at the organ. In charge of the beautiful floral offerins were: Mrs. Arlene Jesse, Mrs. Leona Peterson, and Mrs. Alden Hook. Pall bearers were Roy Jesse, Irvin Peterson, Martin Alain, Kenneth Stone, Hugh Williams and Wyman Ames. Interment was in the Center Grove cemetery near Cambridge.”
