Mrs. Kilker Dies In Home At Baxter

Melissa Marie Kilker, 64, of Collins, passed away at the Colonial Manors in Baxter Saturday morning. Funeral services will be at the Methodist Church in Collins at 1:30 Monday Nov. 13, Rev. Walton M. Grant officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Boyd Nickell Funeral Home of Baxter is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by one son, Rhinehardt of Baxter; two grandchildren, Brenda and Denise of Baxter; two sisters Mrs. Elmer Zelda Janes, rural route Rhodes; Mrs. Cornelia Elliott, Collins and two brothers, Fred Etnier and Harold Etnier, Collins.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Collins and a president of the Happy Birthday club at Collins. She was born Nov. 6, 1903 at Collins to Arthur and Lydia Mae Etnier of Collins. She attended Collins schools and married LeRoy Feb. 6, 1934 in Marshall County.

They lived on a farm near Van Cleave for two years then she moved to Collins in 1936 with her parents. She worked for Donnelleys in Nevada, was also a telephone operator in Collins and did housework in Nevada, Mitchellville and Marshalltown until her health failed in 1963. She has been at Colonial Manor since August.
