BALL, LEONA MAY WHITNEY March 23 1905 – September 20, 1974.

“AREA DEATHS – LEONA MAY WHITNEY BALL – Funeral services for Leona May Ball, 69, a resident of the Oak Park Manor in Nevada since 1953, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. in the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Mrs. Ball died Friday evening at about 11:30. She was born in Macon, Missouri, March 23, 1905, the daughter of LeRoy and Catherine Whitney. They moved to Ames in 1922. Survivors include one brother, Harry Whitney of Denver, Colorado and one sister, Mrs. Frank Wolfram of Sharon, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Floyd, and two sisters, Mary Hazel Jones and Elizabeth Bressell. Rev. Robert Simmons of the United Methodist Church will officiate the Tuesday services. Burial in the Maxwell Cemetery will follow the services.

Services are Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Simmons of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in the Maxwell Cemetery.. Mrs. Ball was born March 23, 1905 in Macon, Mo. She came to Ames in 1922. Survivors include a brother, Harry Whitney, Denver, Colo.; a sister Mrs. Marie Wolfram, Sharon, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters. The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home Monday until time of service.”
