W. F. McDowell Died Early Today; Pneumonia Victim

W. F. McDowell, 54 of 601 T avenue, died at Iowa sanitarium today at 7:30 a. m. after a few days illness of pneumonia.

Mr. McDowell has been a sufferer for several years from pernicious anemia, but the latter part of the week he was taken ill with pneumonia and on Sunday was taken to Iowa sanitarium. With his weakened condition he was unable to combat the pneumonia, in spite of the best of medical care.

William Farley McDowell was born near Hampton, Iowa, 54 years ago September 29th next. He was united in marriage to Miss Tillie Hansen, February 23, 1910. One daughter, Maxine was born to Mr. and Mrs. McDowell, and they also provided a home for many years for Earl and Lowell Bonjour. The former is now married and lives at Ames, while the latter is in the U. S. marines.

Mr. and Mrs. McDowell had lived in or near Nevada for a number of years. They lived in O'Brien county for a few years, after which they moved to Minnesota, before returning to Nevada about 7 years ago.

Besides his wife and one daughter, he leaves brothers Ole of Sheldon, John of Sanborn, Frank of Parkersburg and Dennis of Shellrock, sisters Mrs. George Kemmerer of Parkersburg and Mrs. Clara Long of Montour.

Funeral services will be held from the Nevada Seventhday Adventist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 after which the interment will be in Nevada cemetery.
