Bruce Sutherland Died Last Night from His Injuries

Bruce Sutherland, 56, Nevada man, who was seriously injured when struck down by a car on Highway No. 65, just north of the Polk county farm on the evening of Wednesday, February 17, died at the General hospital in Des Moines last evening about 7:00.

Funeral arrangements have not been made yet

Sutherland was walking along the highway on his way to Des Moines when he was struck down by a car approaching him from the rear. Bones of both legs were broken and he suffered a fractured skull and other injuries.

The death of Sutherland, as a result of an automobile accident brings Iowa's total to 61 since the first of the year.

Sutherland, who had lived in or near Nevada the greater part of his life leaves two daughters and four sons. The daughters are Marie, wife of Howard Mills of Nevada, and Greta, wife of George Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; while the sons are Luther of Chicago and Dorral, Glen and Wayne of Des Moines. He also leaves a brother Frank Sutherland of Nevada who is spending the winter at Chattanooga, Tenn., and three sister Mrs. Howard Kirkendall of South Dakota, Mrs. Bernard Smith of Cedar Falls and Mrs. P. E. Posegate of Nevada.
