MRS. MARTIN

DIED SUNDAY

FUNERAL FOR FORMER ROLAND RESIDENT WAS HELD YESTERDAY

Mrs. Adelbert Martin of Nevada, the former Floy Eggland of this place, died at Iowa sanitarium in Nevada Sunday evening from meningitis, which had developed in the mastoid glands. She had been taken ill earlier in the week, and on Friday was taken to the Iowa sanitarium where she submitted to an operation. It was then found that the meningitis was very far advanced and her condition was critical.

Floy Lillian Eggland was born in Roland July 24, 1908, being the daughter of Osmund and Annie Eggland. She grew to womanhood here and attended the Roland high school, graduating with the class of 1926. Later she attended the State Teachers college in Cedar Falls.

On June 11, 1930, she was united in marriage to Adelbert Martin of Nevada, and had lived in that city since that time. One son, Adelbert Junior was born to this union. Mrs. Martin was a member of Salem Lutheran church while she lived in Roland and after moving to Nevada she affiliated with the Memorial Lutheran church in that city. She was a Sunday school teacher both in Roland and after going to Nevada.

She is survived by her husband and son, age 5, of Nevada, her parents Mr. and Mrs. O. I. Eggland, and brothers, Eric, Irvin and Ernest of this place and Donald of San Diego, California.

The funeral was held in Memorial Lutheran church in Nevada yesterday afternoon with Dr. J. O. Simon in charge, assisted by Rev. Olaf Holen of Roland. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.
