W. A. Msdole

W. A. Madole was born in Manchester, England November 8th 1837. He passed away at his home in New Providence January 24, 1915. He emigrated to America in 1852 going to Plainsfield, New Jersey from there to Kingston, Canada. In a year or two he came to Sandwich, Ill., remaining there until 1858 then left that place and came to Hardin county and located in Union township. The deceased was married in 1857 in LaSalle county, Ill., to Sarah L. Gifford. In 1877 they moved to Grant township and he has since made his home in New Providence. His wife was called to rest October 24, 1903. They were the parents of nine children, two dying in infancy. Those living are Maggie who lived in Grant township, Wm. of Awoden, Iowa, Geo. at Dows, Jessie Wickham at Zearing, Lottie, Chas. and Toby who are still at home. These and a host of friends are left to mourn his death. He was a faithful member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows but owing to ill health and advanced age the past few years. Services were held at the house Tuesday p. m. and the body was laid to rest beside his wife in Union Cemetery.
