OBITUARY
MRS. D. S. SNYDER.
Mrs. Sophie Snyder, widow of the late D. S. Snyder of this city, died on Saturday last at the home in Nampa, Idaho, of her daughter Mrs. L. N. Fenne, and she was buried this forenoon in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery. Mrs. Snyder was an old time and much esteemed resident of Nevada; but she had been gone from Nevada for about twenty years, and it is only the older residents of the town to whom she was known. Forty years and more ago the Snyder home was on the east end of the half block where the county jail now is and faced north, and after the transfer of that property for county uses, the family lived on west Court avenue, where Mr. Snyder died in the early 90's. Mrs. Snyder continued to reside here for several years but finally removed to make her home with her children. These were a son William who died in Oklahoma after he had grown up and three surviving daughters, Mesdames Fenne, Reid and Talbott. There were also a step son John and a step-daughter, Mrs. S. H. Carhart. The boy was brought here in charge of Mr. Fenne, arriving last evening, and there also came Mr. Carhart of Mapleton and Rev. and Mrs. E. J. G. Reid of Washburn, North Dakota. Mrs. Snyder was an active member of the Methodist church and a woman who met faithfully her various obligations. She was slightly over eighty years of age.
