TWO KILLED BY TRAIN

Mrs. Roxie Lounsberry and Son, of Nevada, Meet Death in Colo

Was three hours late

The victims were not expencting the train and were unconsious of its approach when they came to the crosing--Every bone in Mrs. Lounsberry's bodywas broken.

Nevada, July 20--Mrs. Roxie Lounsberry, aged 45, and Frank Lounsberry, aged 17, were instandly killed at Colo, Sunday by Northwestern train No. 3, a fast passenger. The accident ocurred at the crossing at Colo, and the two persons, mother and son, were instantly killed. The horse was also instantly killed and the buggy the couple were in was completely demolished.

Mrs. Lounsberry lives two miles from Colo, and had been attending church there with her son. After the service they had started to drive home when the accident occured.

The train, which is one of the fastest ones on the Northwestern, was about three hours late, and for this reason, probably, the occupants of the buggy were not expecting or looking for it when they approached the crossing.

It is claimed by trainmen, however, that they were not running more than forty or forty-five miles an hour. The train was stopped within forty yards after striking the buggy. They found the body of the boy lying on the pilot of the engine. His skull was badly crushed. The mother was found lying on the ground about 160 feet west of the spot, where the buggy was struck. Every bone in her body was broken. The coroner was called and began holding an inquest over the bodies Sunday evening.
