Clinton, Iowa--Services for Harry E. Barnes Jr., 66, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

He died Thursday at his home.

He worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1942-1960 in Ames. After that, he moved to Clinton and continued working with the railroad, retiring in 1985.

Mr. Barnes married LaVonne Bond in 1943 in Ames.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Community Congregational Church, Clinton; and Royal Order of Moose.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Sandra Abbott, Clinton; a son, Gary, Clinton; five grandchildren; and brothers, Royal, Ellsworth, and Roland, Ames.
