From Nevada Representative February 22, 1916 (page 1)

W. L. ELLISON.

William Lewis Ellison, an early resident of this county, died February 18 at his home in Minneapolis, aged 60 years, 4 months and 14 days. His body was brought to Nevada where brief services were held Sunday forenoon at the home of his sister, Mr. S. P. Alderman, and his funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon from the Evangelical church at Iowa Center by the former pastor, Rev. Chas. Pickford of Belle Plaine.

The deceased was a son of Milburn Ellison, a well known resident who was killed here by a Northwestern train a few years ago, and he came to Story county as a child, the family homestead being established in Indian Creek township. When he was grown up he moved away and lived in Colorado Springs and in Oklahoma, his last home being in Minneapolis. His nearest surviving relatives are his wife, a daughter, and his sister, Mrs. Alderman. At one time he was a practicing physician; but later he was engaged chiefly in religious work.
