The funeral of Mrs. Emma S. Russell who passed away at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, Friday, was held Sunday afternoon from the Pursel Funeral Home, Marshalltown, at 2 o'clock in charge of Mrs. Eva McCoy. Burial was in the Colo cemetery. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss a son Clarence Russell, three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Smay of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Katie Wright and Miss Lizzie Burger of Colo. Relatives and friends attending the funeral services from Colo were Mr. and Mrs. Art Wright, Miss Lizzie Burger, Wm. Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Troutner, Mr. and Mrs. George Troutner, Andrew and Ida Troutner, Katie Hunt and Susie Phares.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Emma Sophia Burger married (1) Fred Edward Russell on 11 November 1904 in Colo, Story County, Iowa. She married (2) Cassius Hinecker on 29 November 1910 in Marshall County, Iowa. Apparently that marriage did not last although in 1914 she is still referred to as Emma Hinecker in her brother's obituary.
