Herman Greiner, 82 of Ames, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1981 at North Grand Care Center in Ames.

He was born in Ladd, Ill., Dec. 26, 1898, the son of Lewis and Mary (Fiedler) Greiner, and came to Colo in 1911. On June 20, 1965, he married Viola Blickensderfer in Marshalltown.

Mr. Greiner owned a hardware store in Colo, was employed as a guard at the atomic research center in Ames, and was employed by the Iowa DOT before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; a son, Eugene, of Rochest, Minn; a daughter, Marilyn Callihan of Sturgis, S.D.; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy of Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, with Revs. John Moore and Cecil Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the Stevens Memorial Chapel Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
