A quartet composed of Mrs. C. I. Kirk, Miss Leta Higby, G. N. Mrs. Mildred Yung and Mrs. Louise Hill took care of the floral offerings. Pallbearers were Foss Allen, D. E. Peters, Earnest Wood, R. Z. Brown, Dick Cuff and Leonard Pierce.

Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery at Iowa Center.

Mrs. Scott was born December 30, 1869, near Iowa Center, one of six children of William V. and Susannah Smith. She had been active in church work since girlhood, having been a member of the Iowa Center Evangelical church and later joining the Maxwell Methodist church.

On December 17, 1891 she was united in marriage to John Scott. After two years during which they lived in Jones county, they moved back to the place of her birth. Three children, two girls and a boy were born to this union. In the year 1919 they moved to Maxwell where Mr. Scott died on September 21, 1941. Mrs. Scott then made her home with her elder daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Van Busenburg, where she passed away on July 25, following a stoke.

She is survived by her three children Mrs. Pearl Busenburg, Mrs. Lulabelle Sesker, and Emmett Scott, and eight grandchildren all of the Maxwell community, a grandson John Scott, with the armed forces in the Southwest Pacific, and one sister, Mrs. W. F. Stratton.
