THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Monday, July 25, 2005.

Dallas Buck, 81, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, July 23, at Marshalltown Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, at the Veterans' Home in Marshalltown.

Dallas Buck was born April 28, 1924, in Howard County to Harry and Elsie (Davis) Buck. He resided in Ogden for most of his life. He graduated from Ogden High School and married Louise Frank. He loved to fish and was a member of the VFW in Boone. He was in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and retired in 1964 from his occupation of 37 years, a shift foreman at Northern Natural Gas Company.

He was survived by two sons, Dallas Buck, Jr. of Colo and Darwin Buck of Iowa City; one daughter, Denise Mcillece of Keota; one step-son, Robert Puhlner of Boone; three step-daughters, Pam Van Cannon of Boone, Jan Hemme of St. James, Mo., and Penny Bloem of Waverly; two sisters, Loretta Jones of Ogden and Dorothy Clausen of Ogden; one brother, Harold Buck of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; a son, Dane Buck; and a sister, Alma Reed.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
