AGED MOTHER OF MRS. C. W. HARRIS PASSED AWAY ON SATURDAY

Mrs. O. A. Winkler, born Mary Lemmons at Midway, Spencer county, Ind., on February 13th, 1846, and departed this life on June 29th, 1917. Age 71 years, 4 months, and 16 days. She was the last of ten children of Jerry and Elizabeth Lemmons. She grew to young womanhood on the Lemmons' homestead. On the 27th day of November in the year of our Lord 1870, she was united in the bonds of Holy matrimony to O. A. Winkler of Rockport, Spencer county, Indiana. Two children were born to this union, Walter L. and Caddie Olive. She with her family lived in Evansville, Ind. and Colorado Springs, Colo., for a number of years. Two years ago she with Mr. Winkler came to Nevada trusting a change of Attitude would be beneficial also to be near their only daughter. Her illness is traceable to an injury received when she fell in her Colorado Springs home some years ago. This with other complications was the cause of her death. She has been confined to her bed the greater portion of the time for two years. She joined the Methodist church at the age of 12 years, was converted at the age of eighteen and has been a devoted Christian ever since. She was a patient sufferer and through all her illness never lost sight of her Lord and Master. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, always sacrificing self for those around her.

Her departure from this life is mourned by her companion and two children, Walter L. and Mrs. Charles W. Harris; also by one grandson, and a number of relatives and friends. The funeral was held from the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Edwin C. McDade, officiating. Interment in the Nevada cemetery.
