Funeral Services Are Held Recently For Mrs. M. Maliet

Mrs. Michael Maliet of Des Moines, formerly of Nevada, died at the Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1961, where she had been entered just a few hours before her death, suffering from a heart attack. She had heart trouble for the past eleven years.

Gertrude Fry was born Feb. 22, 1890, in Bettsville, Ohio, the daughter of David and Lovia Fry. She was married to Michael Maliet at Marshalltown Dec. 21, 1910. At the time of her death she was 71 years, 10 months and 11 days of age. She had lived in Des Moines the past eleven years.

Survivors include her husband, Michael, one son Merle Maliet, both of the home in Des Moines, two brothers, Orville Fry of Olney, Ill. and Howard Fry of Rome City, Ind., four sisters, Mrs. Guy (Ethel) Selby, of Nevada, Mrs. Mildred Schermerhorn, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Zelma Sprague, Ligonier, Ind., and Mrs. Fannie Ross, Wolcottville, Inc., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Maliet was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Everett Fry, two sisters, Ione and Helen Fry, and by two sons who died in infancy.

Funeral Services

Funeral services of Mrs. Maliet were held Saturday, Dec. 16, 1961, at 10:00 a. m. at St. Patrick's Church in Nevada with Father J. J. Brickley officiation. Music was furnished by St. Patrick's choir. Casket bearers were Paul Wheelock, William Long, Richard Maliet, Gerald Jennett and Victor Selby, all nephews of the deceased, and Raymond Ross, her brother-in -law.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ross of Ligonier, Ind., and Mrs. Donald Sprague of Wolcottville, Ind. were in attendance at the funeral services, as well as other relatives and friends from Minnesota.
