Mrs. A. M. McHone Died Early Today; Funeral Thursday
Mrs. A. M. McHone, 74, longtime resident of the Napier neighborhood, died at 8:10 today at the Iowa sanitarium where she was brought September 14, suffering from a fractured hip.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, with prayer at the home at 1 p.m., followed by services at the Napier Methodist church at 1:30 and burial in the Iowa Center cemetery. The service will be in charge of Rev. J. C. Turner of the Napier church.
Born Hannah Leota Eastman at Fremont, Neb., December 2, 1864, she came to Ames as a child and was married to A. M. McHone at Iowa Center July 2, 1882.
She leaves her husband; sons Fred, Arthur and Raymond McHone, all of Ames; daughters, Mrs. John Lee and Mrs. Harold Green of Ames, Mrs. Cleo Roe of Boone, Mrs. Noble Price of Stanhope, Mrs. Albert Pepin of Des Moines and Mrs. Ann E. Wilkinson of Grand Island, Neb.; a sister Mrs. Clara Luginani of Los Angeles; 27 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral will be W. H. Judge, Stephen Banks, Floyd Miller, Charles Kitchen, Merlin Soderstrom and James Sorenson, all of the Napier neighborhood.
The body is now at the Adams Funeral home in Ames.
Mrs. McHone had become a member of the U. B. church at Cambridge during her residence in that part of the county.
