Funeral Services for L. J. Townswick

Story City, July 29--Funeral services were held in the Bethel Lutheran church Saturday afternoon July 22 for L. J. Townswick, who passed away at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines on Wednesday, July 19. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiated.

Ludvig Johan Townswick son of Martha and Johannes Tungesvig, was born on a farm north of Roland December 11, 1873, and died at Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines July 19, 1939, at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 8 days.

On December 11, 1900, he was united in marriage to Mamie Hermanson. They settled on a farm six miles southeast of Story City, where they lived until three years ago, when they retired from farming and moved to Story City. They were the parents of six children: Mrs. Herbert Jacobson of Des Moines, Mrs. Herbert Emmons of Kanawha, Mrs. Herman Olson, Mrs. Orville Olson, Jeffrey and Richard Townswick all of Story City. He also leaves seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. T. P. Hermanson of Tyler, Minn.; three brothers, Ole of Madison, S. D., Tom of Tyler, Minn., and Martin of Story City.

A large number were present for the services which were made more impressive by the many and beautiful bouquets of flowers and the many monetary gifts, totaling $212.60, which were given in memory of the deceased to missions. Music was furnished by Burnette Severeid and Gerhardt Paulsrud. Interment was in the Story City cemetery.

Pall bearers were Peter Skogerboe, Charles Hove, Dedrick Munson, J. M. Severeid, E. Evans and J. C. Olson.
