Mrs. Orville Oxley Died Thursday at Sunny Slope Sanitarium

Mrs. Orville Oxley, 30, died at the Sunny Slope sanitarium, near Ottumwa, Thursday at 12:00 m. having been there for treatment for tuberculosis since late last fall.

The body was brought to Nevada and is now at the Bishop Funeral home in preparation for the funeral and interment.

Mrs. Oxley, whose maiden name was Naomi Ferguson, was a daughter of Mrs. Frances Ferguson-Oxley of 1420 Fourth Street.

Mrs. Naomi Ferguson-Oxley of Nevada, passed away at the sanitarium, Ottumwa, at 12:00 o'clock noon, Thursday, May 18, 1939. Mrs. Oxley had been confined to her bed for two years but just recently had lost strength rapidly.

Mrs. Oxley was born in Boone, Iowa, March 8, 1908, but the early years of her life were spent in South Dakota. When she was ten years of age her family came to Nevada, where Mrs. Oxley spent the remaining years of her life except for the six months at the sanitarium.

On July 11, 1926 Naomi Ferguson was united in marriage with Orville Oxley of Nevada and to this union were born five children, Robert now 13 years of age, Arlene 11, Herbert 9, David 7 and Ronnie 3.

Mrs. Oxley was a very devote mother of high ideals and aspirations, remarkable in her illness for her cheerful patience and her consideration of those who had the task of taking care of her.

She was a member of the Evangelical church since early in her life.

She leaves besides her husband and children her mother, Mrs. Lem Oxley of Nevada, a sister Mrs. Dorothy Amundson and four brothers, Mert Ferguson of Vista, Cal., Wesley, David and Ralph of Nevada.

She follows in death her father, a brother and a sister.

The funeral services will be held at the Evangelical church in Nevada on Sunday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m.
