Funeral Services at Ames Thursday for Former Kelley Farmer

Kelley, Feb. 22--Funeral services for A. D. Freed, 77, former Kelley man who died at a hospital in Minneapolis Monday night, will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Duckworth Funeral home in Ames, after which the body will be taken to Boone for burial. The services will be in charge of Rev. Jack Finigan of the Ames Church of Christ.In ill health for some time, he had been a hospital patient for four weeks, suffering from pneumonia and resultant complications.
Mr. Freed was born in Boone county in 1862 but lived upon an operated a farm near here for 16 years, before moving to Minneapolis. His wife who before her marriage in 1883 was Ida Duckworth, preceded him in death 11 years ago, passing away in 1928.
Surviving him are two sons, Charles of Kelley and Donald of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. Mina Johnson of Ontario, Mrs. Carrie Rex of Ames, Mrs. Margaret Stansbury and Mrs. Helen Johnson of Minneapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Goldberger and Kittie Freed of California, Mrs. Jane Baughman, Mrs. Anna Prime and Mrs. Flora Antes of Ames.
