Vera Hutchinson* of Ames died Wednesday morning

Vera L. Hutchinson*, age 75, of 1107 Kellogg Ave., Ames died Wednesday morning at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held from the Adams Funeral Home in Ames, Saturday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Walter E. Lack will officiate with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Born and educated in Nevada, she moved to Ames in 1925. She was employed as a sales clerk at Younkers when the store first opened. She married Charles Guy Hutchinson on August 18, 1923.

She is survived by one son, Jack of Omaha, Nebr., one daughter, Mrs. Travelle (Wayne) Reed of Iowa City; one step-son, Robert E. Wallace of Des Moines; one brother, Harry E. (Bud) Sherk of Nevada; two sisters: Iola Brendeland and Evelyn Taylor, both of Nevada; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home from Friday afternoon until time of service.
