BENNETT FUNERAL HELD IN NEVADA

The body of Wm. C. Bennett, whose sudden death occurred near his home near Panora last Wednesday, was brought to Nevada for burial. The funeral party arrived here Friday noon and funeral services were held at the Methodist church that afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. M. Shipman.

Mr. Bennett was born in Pennsylvania August 23, 1867, and died at his home three miles southwest of Panora, Iowa, October 13, 1920, aged 53 years, one month and twenty days. He had been in his usual goo health and was out doing the morning chores when suddenly without any warning he was stricken by the hand of death, thus proving the uncertainty of life.

He came to Genoa, Ill., with his parents and lived there until about seventeen years old, when they came to Story county, Iowa, where he lived and came to manhood, following agriculture and stock raising as his principal occupation. Nothing pleasured him more than to show his fine stock to his friends and neighbors.

He was united in marriage to Miss Delphine Barker, March 1, 1891. They lived in Greene county several years until they bought the present home. He leaves to mourn his demise his wife, son Harry and daughter Eva, also one brother, Monford, of Rockford, Ill., and two sisters, Celesta, of Genoa, Ill., Adaline Wheeler, of Brookfield, Mo., and Belle Waters, of San Jose, Calif. He was the youngest of a family of seven children. One brother died in infancy and a sister, Harriet Montague, of Pennsylvania, and his father and mother preceded him several years ago.
